Episode #26 God’s Breath Mint Sermon

Well, the interviews are getting scarce and since Kevin is still trying to write his post-grad dissertation, D.G. is getting desperate for Podcasts, and decided to just post up one of his sermons from last month. (i.e. please send us your suggestions for whom to interview on the podcast with contact info) D.G. only preaches about 1-2 times a year so this is rare, but D.G. takes about God having 3 traits that his people should also have, but might have forgotten! he also spends a little time in the end trying to explain Th3 Waters to the existing church (Florence UMC) that is supporting the ministry. So, for those of you who wonder what the heck Th3 Waters is or D.G.’s understanding of three very important traits of God then this sermon is for you! Enjoy! http://praxispodcast.com

And here are the scriptures (NLT) that were read before the sermon:

Genesis 2: 7

Then The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Psalm 104: 24-34

24 O Lord, what a variety of things you have made!
In wisdom you have made them all.
The earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the ocean, vast and wide,
teeming with life of every kind,
both large and small.
26 See the ships sailing along,
and Leviathan,[c] which you made to play in the sea.

27 They all depend on you
to give them food as they need it.
28 When you supply it, they gather it.
You open your hand to feed them,
and they are richly satisfied.
29 But if you turn away from them, they panic.
When you take away their breath,
they die and turn again to dust.
30 When you give them your breath,[d] life is created,
and you renew the face of the earth.

31 May the glory of the Lord continue forever!
The Lord takes pleasure in all he has made!
32 The earth trembles at his glance;
the mountains smoke at his touch.

33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath!
34 May all my thoughts be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.

John 20: 19-22

19 That Sunday evening[b] the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20 As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
